Requirements

  • Check nationality eligibility: Portuguese, EU/EEA, or qualifying Portuguese-speaking-country reciprocal arrangements.
  • Meet schooling, capacity, background and medical/psychological requirements.
  • Foreign applicants generally need B1 Portuguese evidence; the official page gives an exception for nationals of Portuguese-speaking states.

    Confirm the nationality or recognition route and collect background, education and fitness documents.

    Complete approved training

    Verify the entity, speciality and delivery format with PSP.

  3. 03

    Apply for the professional card

    Apply through SIGESP or the published postal process. Cards are normally valid for five years.
