Put it into practice
Prepare for your assigned emergency duty
During induction, you are assigned to meet responders at a designated safe entrance when instructed. Select the three details to clarify before your first shift.

Learn your workplace plan
During induction, confirm the local emergency telephone numbers, exact site address, entrances, alarms, exit routes and assembly points. Ask who coordinates the response and what you are trained and authorised to do.
Keep exit routes clear and report damaged safety equipment. Follow the workplace plan and the instructions of emergency responders.
Give a useful emergency message
Reach a safe position, alert others through the site process and contact local emergency services when urgent help is needed.
Give the address, exact location within the site, what you can observe, any immediate hazards and a contact number. Follow the dispatcher’s instructions and report changes.
Stay within your training
Carry out the evacuation or support duties assigned to you. Keep people away from hazards and avoid entering an unsafe area. Provide treatment or use specialist equipment only within your training and site procedures.
