Your state entry route
Tennessee requires unarmed guard registration for covered contract and proprietary security employees. Applicants must be at least 18 and complete background screening.
Complete four hours covering guard orientation, legal limitations, emergency procedures and general duties. Later, complete two hours of refresher training before each two-year renewal.
Review eligibility
Check the regulator's citizenship or residency and criminal-history conditions.
Complete training and screening
Arrange the required training and IdentoGO background check.
Apply in CORE
Submit the Initial Unarmed Guard Registration Application and required payment.
Confirm assignment conditions
Pending applicants may work with a complete paid application and must carry its copy while working.
Confirm your situation
Alcohol-serving locations and less-lethal equipment trigger additional training requirements.
General preparation does not automatically satisfy the required guard training.
