Lesson notes & sources
Your state entry route
Oklahoma issues an individual unarmed Security Guard license through CLEET, supported by training, testing and background screening.
Complete Phase I and Phase II, 20 hours each, and pass the required unarmed security guard examination.
Choose approved training
Use CLEET's private security school resources to arrange both required phases.
Pass the examination
Follow CLEET's current testing instructions and retain your completion documents.
Prepare screening documents
Arrange approved fingerprinting and obtain requested identification, photograph and court records where applicable.
Apply through CLEET
Submit the application with employer documentation or the applicable bond or insurance evidence and required payment.
Confirm your situation
Confirm your authorized start date and license status with CLEET and your employer.
General preparation does not automatically satisfy approved Phase I or II training.
Prepare for your assessment route
Oklahoma’s unarmed route requires a CLEET-approved Phase I and Phase II programme, 20 hours per phase, followed by the CareerTech state examination. Examination 5101 has 50 questions, a 75-minute limit and a 70% pass standard.
Confirm your school’s approval and delivery, then arrange an authorised testing site with your completion evidence and identification. CLEET processes the separate licence application.
