Your state entry route
An employed contract guard is registered by a licensed security provider through PISGS. The provider license and employee registration are separate requirements.
Confirm the employer's unarmed induction and site training. Firearm-bearer requirements apply separately to armed duties.
Join a licensed provider
Confirm the employer's PISGS license and your unarmed role.
Arrange fingerprints
Follow PISGS WebCheck instructions for the BCI background check.
Complete registration
The employer submits the online application, payment and fingerprints within seven calendar days of hire.
Confirm your start status
Carry your issued registration card; pending-application work requires the employer's authorized client-waiver process.
Confirm your situation
A submitted application alone does not establish permission to start.
Direct in-house employment can fall under different statutory provisions.
