Your state entry route
Employees providing contracted security services obtain a state-issued employee ID card through a licensed agency. The employer must hire you before you apply.
Confirm the employer's unarmed assignment training and any client-specific requirements; the employee ID application is a separate process.
Join a licensed agency
Verify the agency's license and secure employment.
Apply through the portal
Create an account and submit the PD2 employee application linked to your employer.
Complete approval and payment
The agency reviews your application and supplies your photograph. Payment triggers a 14-day temporary ID.
Submit fingerprints promptly
Follow DPS instructions and track conversion to provisional and permanent ID status.
Confirm your situation
Uniforms and insignia require the commissioner's approval.
