Your state entry route
Unarmed employees of private security agencies follow an employer-led route. The Board expressly exempts them from individual employee registration while requiring training.
Complete the Board's minimum 24-hour basic course through a certified instructor before providing security services. Confirm later employer training for your assignment.
Find a licensed employer
Ask the agency to confirm the role, its license, and your eligibility.
Complete approved initial training
Have the employer identify a Board-certified instructor and verify your course meets Rule 509-3-.02.
Keep your training evidence
Obtain your completion certificate; the employer must retain required training records.
Finish site induction
