Your state entry route
The Private Security Officer credential is Arkansas's unarmed employee route. A licensed security company and an individual employee have separate requirements.
Complete Phase I training, at least eight hours, and pass the examination administered through the authorized training team.
Confirm the job category
Ask your employer to confirm that your position uses the unarmed PSO application.
Complete Phase I
Arrange training with the employer or an authorized training organization and obtain the signed training page.
Prepare the application
Follow State Police instructions for employer details, identification, photographs, fingerprints and supporting documents.
Receive your credential
Confirm issuance with the employer before performing duties that require the credential.
Confirm your situation
Commissioned and school-security positions have additional requirements.
General preparation does not automatically count as approved Phase I training.
