Your state entry route
Alabama uses a personal Security Officer license for ordinary unarmed employees of licensed contract security companies.
Complete at least eight hours of initial Board-approved training with a Certified Trainer. Board-required training includes a written assessment with a minimum pass mark of 70%.
Choose an employer
Confirm the contract security company holds an active ASRB license and supplies its details for your application.
Complete training
Confirm the course and Certified Trainer are accepted by ASRB. Complete the required training and written assessment, then retain the signed training certificate.
Submit your application
Provide the current personal application, identification, photographs, release forms, fingerprint cards and payment. Confirm current submission instructions on the ASRB website.
Confirm your start
Follow the application’s temporary-license instructions and carry the required documentation while awaiting the board's decision.

The published application total is $112: $75 application/licence and $37 background check. Training and fingerprint-service charges may be additional.

Prepare for your assessment route
For the ordinary unarmed contract-security route, complete at least eight hours of Board-approved initial training with a Certified Trainer. The Alabama rule requires a written assessment covering the required course subject matter and a minimum pass mark of 70%.

Get Licensed foundations are supplementary preparation. Alabama’s required curriculum includes legal and other specific subjects that your accepted course must cover.
